38th NACS annual conference

38th NACS annual conference

Welcome to NACS 2016 Annual Meeting in Tartu!

On behalf of the Estonian Academic Society of Sexology and the Board of NACS National Presidents, we are pleased to welcome you to the 38th NACS Annual Meeting in Estonia!

This year’s conference will be held in Tartu, situated in southeastern Estonia, 186 kilometres from Estonia’s capital Tallinn.

Tartu is a university city, a city of students. The time-honoured university, museum-rich and Hanseatic city of Tartu lies on the banks of the River Emajõgi. The capital of southern Estonia is the second largest city in the country (but the largest in terms of student population!) and the oldest in the Baltic States. Tartu is a modern city with a rich historical heritage and culture.

It is the cradle of the Estonian Song Festival, Estonian theatre and the Estonian state; Tartu is the intellectual capital of Estonia where national awareness and the culture of Estonia was born.

Tartu can be reached by flying to Tallinn and taking a bus to Tartu straight from the airport, or by flying straight to Tartu from Helsinki. All conference venues and hotels are situated in the city centre, 5-10 minutes of walking distance from each other. The venue of the meeting is the new Concert Hall of Heino Eller Music College, on the slope of beautiful and historical Toomemägi (Dome Hill).

This year’s meeting will be held from September 22th to 25th, 2016 and is titled „Love, Trust, Sexuality“, encouraging to seek and explore its reflections in long-term relationships, all sexes, sexual orientations, personality traits, temporal trends and so forth. The Organizing Committee will do its very best to offer you an exciting programme and talks presented by renowned experts in the field as well as younger specialists and researchers in sexology and beyond.

And last but not least (or even most importantly), we would like you to meet the NACS family, greet your old friends and make new ones and enjoy a few beautiful autumn days in the City of Good Thoughts with us!

See you in Tartu!
